Nov 29, 2023Starbucks Japan x PORTER Bag and Tumbler Collab
Starbucks Japan has enlisted the expertise of PORTER for a new merch drop: special bags and stainless steel tumblers, emblazoned with co-branded detailing. Both Starbucks Japan and PORTER have been known to be prolific collaborators and have more than a few mutual collaborative partners — think fragment design and AMBUSH — so it may come as a surprise to hear that this is their first direct collaboration, as in the past Starbucks Japan had only teamed up with PORTER Classic, the bagmaker's clothing arm.
PORTER's signature MA-1 style waterproof nylon is used on the collection's drum bags, which were produced in two sizes: a more compact one for a quick coffee errand, and a larger one that can easily store devices and chargers in addition to your coffee. Besides the bags, the sustainable tumblers are available in in white, orange and black and spotlight signature Starbucks and Porter branding. The release also includes limited edition "Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo" bottles and bags, which will be solely available for purchase at the store. These stainless steel bottles and drum bags both come in more subdued black and copper tones.
To celebrate the release, Starbucks Japan and PORTER are also hosting a special "Starbucks in the PORTER Gallery" display to show off the collection's iconography and spotlight each brand's history. This pop-up event will be held in PORTER's Tokyo and Omotesando stores from June 21 through June 30.
It's been a highly-caffeinated collaborative stretch for PORTER as of late too, with the brand producing everything from a collection with Palace to products with JJJound and TOGA over the past 12-odd months. You can expect this Starbucks Japan collaboration to join the lineup when it releases on June 21, with prices ranging from
